Day :

The course runs as a 3 day short course in July. There are two course modes:

  • as an enrolled student @ UNSW, or
  • as a full fee paying external (external participants will get a UNSW certificate, if they choose to do the academic mode).

The course will run as a short course from 3 to 5 July 2006 with WebCT assistance.

This means that students and fee payers attending the lectures in July will be able to refer to the lectures during S2 (August-November 2006) streaming on-line via the university WebCT server. Students are more than welcome to come and see me in my office for any queries or assistance.

The lectures will be archived on the WebCT server and could be accessed at anytime by enrolled students/fee payers as long as they have cable connection, media player and a sound card on their system. All the communications and assessments will be coordinated via the WebCT portal. Students with restricted internet access should contact me and I will arrange access to the new computer Laboratory in Safety Science.

The Assessments for the course will consist of an on-line exam, a class presentation and a final EMS report submitted at the end of session 2.
