Ms Ivy Zhang is a research associate in the School of Risk and Safety Sciences on the Microsimulation to Epidemic Modelling project, investigating software development of the microsimulation, the application of computer modelling, and the case studies of epidemic modelling.
Ivy Zhang majored in Safety Engineering of Bachelor degree in China University of Geosciences. She has work experience in the Coal Mine Pty. Ltd. China. During that time, she finished part of the company Preliminary Hazard Analysis of work field, research on planning of emergency forecast, and analysis of the effect of dust, light intensity, noise, and ultraviolet radiation on the working environment. The internship experience at Beijing Yanshan Sinopec Corporation, China let her to do a lot of identification to equipment facilities and safety signs and HSE system, and some research work to establish possible prevention methods to occupational diseases.
Her current research interest includes computer modelling, simulating individual behaviours, characteristics of disease spread, disease prevention, and other applications of the simulation modelling technique, such as investigation of the spread of fire and explosion in buildings and analysis of environmental contamination aspects (biological weapon attacks and radiation poisoning, etc...)
