SENIOR LECTURER PhD (EU), BSc(Hons Chem)(EU) Phone : 938 55469 Email : a.green@unsw.edu.au Dr. Anthony (Tony) Green is a Senior Lecturer in Risk Management at the School of Safety Science. He coordinates and lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students from programs in Safety Science. Dr. Green has been an active researcher in the area of the Fire and Explosion and Risk Assessment. His main research interests fall into two areas:
The research on Catastrophic Risk Assessment has resulted in the development of novel approach to incorporating risk events at the catastrophic end of the risk spectrum within the spectrum of more common events. This technique incorporates spatial modelling of the risk system and behaviours. Some applications which are currently being developed are for terrorism, fire, pandemics and biosecurity. These will be developed as decision support systems for emergency planning and other uses. The second area of research is the improvement of the modelling of fire, fire spread and explosion to give realistic predictions of damage and injury. This requires both the development of experimental data and analysing this against new developments in modelling. Current research involves the development of a new model for fire spread and the effect of enclosure obstructions on the venting characteristics of explosions. Catastrophic Risk
